Eyelid lifting is an outpatient procedure and the patient spends a total of 2 to 3 hours in the clinic, depending on whether only the upper or all four eyelids are operated on. Since the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, it is completely painless. Complete recovery takes approximately 2 weeks, as long as it takes for the hematoma and swelling to resorb. A week after the procedure, the stitches are removed, and it is then possible to return to daily duties and work.

Recommendations:

• sleeping with the head elevated (to reduce the possibility of swelling and hematoma)

• not applying makeup for at least a few days after the procedure

• no physical work for 2 weeks
